Case filed over Chattogram stampede

A case has been filed in connection with Monday’s stampede that killed 11 people while collecting iftar items at Nolua union in Satkania upazila.

Mohammad Islam, husband of victim Hasina Akhter of Khagria union, filed the case with Satkania Police Station accusing Kabir Steel and Re-Rolling Mills (KSRM) owner Mohammad Shahjahan and several others, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.

At least 11 people were killed and 50 others injured as they scrambled to collect iftar items distributed by the management of KSRM at its owner’s native village on Monday.
