Election Commission invites Juktofront for talks at 4pm

Election Commission (EC) has invited Juktofront this afternoon to discuss issues over the upcoming general election after the party earlier today sought appointment from it.

The meeting will take place at 4:00pm, said Jahangir Alam, press secretary to Bikolpodhara Bangladesh (BDB) President Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury.

A six-member delegation consisting of Major (retd) MA Mannan, BDB secretary general, Golam Sarwer Milon, presidium member of BDB, Jabel Rahman, chairman of Bangladesh NAP, Mazharul Huque Shah Chowdhury, Juktofront leader, Barrister Omor Faruk, organising secretary of BDB, and Mahmuda Chowdhury, vice president of BDB will attend the dialogue on behalf of the party. 

Earlier in the day, the party forwarded a letter to the commission seeking the appointment before November 9.

According to its plan, the Election Commission is expected to announce the election schedule on November 8.

Prof Badruddoza Chowdhury-led Bikolpodhara is leading the opposition alliance of Juktofront, which refused to join hands with Jatiya Oikyafront.
