‘Robber’ killed in Munshiganj ‘gunfight’

A suspected robber was killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Shekharnagar in Sirajdikhan Upazila on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Selim, 42, son of Anwar Hossain of Keraniganj.
Police said the ‘gunfight’ took place near Dhaleshwari River in Syedpur Bazar around 11am.
A police patrol came under fire when it went to the area, said Asaduzzaman, additional superintendent of Munshiganj Police.
“Selim was killed in the ensuing skirmish,” he claimed.
Two sharp weapons and a gun were recovered from the spot, the ASP said.
