BIWTA continues eviction drives along Buriganga river

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) continued its eviction drives for the third consecutive days to demolish unauthorised establishments in the city’s Keraniganj area along the Buriganga river.
The drivestarted around 9:00am on Thursday and it will continue till 5:00pm.
Earlier, BIWTA started its eviction drives along the Buriganga river on Tuesday. On the first day of its drives, it evicted a total of 198 illegal establishments.
On Wednesday, BIWTA knocked down 151 illegal structures of the areas ranging from Mandail Gokulchar to Aganagar adjacent to the Babubazar Bridge as part of the ongoing drive against illegal establishments along the Buriganga river.
