Qatar envoy lauds Bangladesh's success in health sector

Qatar Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed Al-Dehaimi today appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim for ensuring health services for Bangladesh's 16 crore people efficiently with limited resources.

He made the appreciation during a call on with Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim at his secretariat office, said an official release.

"Bangladesh's recent achievement in ensuring health services for the people is undoubtedly praiseworthy," he said and expressed keenness to use Bangladesh's experiences in the health services in Qatar.

Government and private level cooperation between Bangladesh and Qatar would open new horizons in the development of health sectors of both countries, the envoy observed.

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim referred to the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Qatar and expressed gratitude to the envoy for showing interest in Bangladesh's health sector.

He highlighted various steps taken by the government to reach health services to the people and said the country's success in attaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is an example for many countries.

He assured the envoy of all cooperation from Bangladesh to creating a field of bilateral cooperation for improvement of health services for people of two countries.
