The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday arrested a suspended general manager of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation Limited from the capital in a graft case.

ACC assistant director Md Shafiullah of its head office arrested Md Jahangir Hossain (also a former deputy general manager of Platinum Jubilee Jute Mills, Khulna) from the city's Segunbagicha area, ACC spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
On 12 December, 2016, the national anti-graft agency filed a case against the jute mills official and others with Khalishpur police station in Khulna for allegedly swindling out money from Platinum Jubilee Jute Mills of Khalishpur.
According to the case statement, when Jahangir Hossain worked in Platinum Jubilee Jute Mills during 2012-2014, he in collusion with others misappropriated about 1,1117 metric tonnes of processors (jute and jute products) worth around Tk 7.44 crore from the jute mills.
