Big tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway

The commuters suffered as traffic was brought to a halt leading to a 30-kilomrtre tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway on Thursday.

The tailbacks were seen between Mirzapur's Jamurki and Gazipur's Chandra.

Mirzaput traffic inspector Md Shahadat Hossain said the traffic jam was shaped as a truck went out of order on the highway around 3:00am on Thursday.

The truck has already been removed from the spot to ease the traffic movement.

Police's other sources said a bus and a truck collided head-on on the highway in Dherua area of the district, leaving 7 people injured. The accident had led to the 30-kolonetre tailback on the highway, the police source added.

Police also said they are trying hard to ensure the traffic movement.
