64 held in Jhenaidah crackdown

Police conducted special crackdown in six upazilas in the district and arrested 64 people from Friday (May 5) to Saturday (May 6).
Police also recovered 260 yaba tablets, 120 bottles of phensedyl and 100gm hemp from their possession.
Jhenaidah Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Azbahar Ali Shiekh told Banglanews that the raids were conducted as part of drives against militancy, sabotage and terrorism in the district.
Of the 64 people, 8 were detained from Shailkupa whereas 10 from Harinakundu, 12 from Maheshpur, 14 from Kaliganj, Kotchandpur and 20 from sadar upazilas.
The arrestees are accused in different cases, said ASP Azbahar Ali.
