2 ‘JMB militants’ held in Dhaka

Law enforcers today claimed to have arrested six militants during two separate drives in Dhaka and its outskirts Ashulia last night.

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime claimed arrest of four alleged militants of banned outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Motijheel.

Identities of the arrestees could not be ascertained.

Rapid Action Battalion claimed arrest of two alleged militants of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Ashulia, a text message floated to the media said.

They were identified as Imran and Rafik, allegedly involved in supplying raw materials for making bombs. Various explosives and related materials were said to have been seized from them.

Further details of both the arrests will be disclosed in press briefings later in the day.
