The prosecutors of Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case today submitted a petition before a Dhaka court seeking an arrest warrant against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for going to London without its permission.

Public Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajol submitted the petition to the makeshift court of Special Judge-5 at Bakshibazar.

On the other hand, the defence opposed it saying that the BNP chief had earlier gone abroad on several times without permission from the court for her treatment so they did not submit any application in this regard.

Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman did not pass any order on the petition today.

He however fixed July 24 for holding further hearing on the petition.
