Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Unit (CTTU) of police are quizzing three people including acting Pro-Vice Chancellor of North South University Gias Uddin Ahsan for their alleged link to the terror attacks at Gulshan restaurant on July 1.

The other arrestees are: Alam Chowdury, nephew of Gias Uddin Ahsan, and manager of the building Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin.

Police said a team of CTTU detained them from different parts of the capital on Saturday for not keeping information of tenants who were involved in the Gulshan terrorist attack.

Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman told BSS that members of the militant group rented a flat at holding number A/6 of Block-E at road no-6 in Basundhara residential area in May.

Later, they carried out the terrorist attack at Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan on July 1.

Armed militants attacked the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan's diplomatic zone and killed 20 hostages -- nine Italian, seven Japanese, two Bangladeshis, one Indian and one Bangladesh-born US citizen. Two police officers were also killed in the attack.
