Saif Powertec Ltd took initiatives to help maintain the operations of loading and unloading cargo goods at Chittagong port.

The nationwide known company decided to load-unload of the containers as regular at the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) and Chittagong Container Terminal (CCT) at the country’s main seaport, said a press release.

Managing Director of Saif Powertec Limited Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin told that the government shut of mass transportation to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus. As a result, the workers faced difficulties to commute for lack of vehicles.

“We arranged three buses to transport for NCT and CCT staffs. They will be carried from different points of the city to facilitate their communication. One bus is carrying our workers from Kathgarh, one at Bahaddarhat and the other from the Alankar More,” he also said.

“We also took various initiatives to protect our workers from coronavirus. The workers are using sanitizer and masks to protect themselves. Special doctors have been appointed for them as well. We also formed a special monitoring team to observe the workers' health conditions,” Mr. Ruhul added.
