Education minister to hold view-exchange meeting with media on HSC results

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will hold an exchange of views on the results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) with members of the mass media, the reopening of educational institutions, the Textbook Festival, and other relevant issues on Tuesday.

The meeting will be held at 12:00 noon via the Zoom online platform.

On Saturday night, MA Khair, the ministry's public relations officer, confirmed the details. 

Sources said that this year, a total of 34.50 crore textbooks were prepared to be distributed to students of various classes across the country.

All plans to hand over the books to the students have already been completed by the authorities, but the distribution of those textbooks remains a major challenge as the arrival of winter has brought an increase in cases involving Covid-19.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to practically inaugurate the distribution ceremony of textbooks on December 31, the Ministry of Education said. Preparations are being made on that day to celebrate the Textbook Festival-2021, it added.

Golam Faruque, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), said that the decision was taken to distribute textbooks from educational institutions when speaking about the Textbook Festival.

While it is expected that the results of HSC and equivalent exams will be published within this month, the ministry said.
