School banking to create savings habit among students: Nuruzzaman

State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed, MP, has said the present government has launched the school banking system to create savings habit among the youngsters since their student life.

"Side by side with devoting to studies and acquiring knowledge, the young students should develop savings habit as well as attain other better human virtues since their school life," Nuruzzaman said.

The state minister made these observations while addressing the 'School Banking Conference' organised by Rupali Bank Limited (RBL) at Zila Parisahd auditorium in Lalmonirhat district town on Saturday afternoon as chief guest.

Advocate Safura Begum Rumi, MP, and Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Alauddin Kahn addressed the conference as special guests.

Lalmonirhat Zila Parisahd Chairman Advocate Matiar Rahman, Municipality Mayor Rezaul Islam Rintu, District Education Officer Abu Ashraf Noor, Lalmonirhat Chamber President Kamrul Hassan, addressed, among others.

Presided over by managing director and chief executive officer of RBL Ataur Rahman, teachers and students of different educational institutions, bank officials, civil society members and public representatives took part in the conference.

The state minister said, "Education is never lost from life-Education always makes life stronger, meaningful and enjoyable ---So, the youngsters should learn knowledge as well as acquire good human qualities like savings habit since their student life."

Earlier, the state minister inaugurated school banking fair on Zila Parishad premises where different public and public sector banks and financial institutions set up 14 stalls displaying school banking activities and successes achieved so far in the district.
