7 injured in CU BCL factional clash

At least seven students were injured during a factional clash of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University unit on Thursday afternoon (May 4).
According to CU sources, the clash broke out after followers of CU unit President Alamgir Tipu beat up a follower of general secretary Fazle Rabbi at the university rail station around 2:30pm.
During the clash, men of both groups took shelter in two halls and exchanged brick chips. Some of them displayed sharp weapons in their hands. Three of the injured are followers of president and rests are followers of general secretary.
CU police outpost in-charge Akhtaruzzaman said police have taken position in-front of the halls to control the situation.
