60-km traffic jam on Dhaka-Tangail highway

Thousands of  passengers got stuck on Dhaka-Tangail highway on Tuesday morning as a 60-km long tailback was created on the road due to heavy traffic.

Vehicular movement came to a halt on the highway from Gazipur’s Chandra More to Tangail’s Alenga since Sunday night.

The main reasons of traffic congestion are construction works of  three flyover of Konabari and Chowrasta, two rail bridge of Dherua and Kaliakoir, 10 damaged bridges, many big and small holes and among other works.
