Bangladesh scored 239 runs after 46 overs with losing four wickets in their first one day international (ODI) of the three-match series against South Africa at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Sunday.

Earlier, winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza elected to bat first against hosts South Africa in their first one day international (ODI) of the three-match series at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Sunday.

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal and pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman were left out of the best XI due to their injuries.

Tigers will hope to stage a comeback in the match as they will be led by their charismatic ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza.

Mushfiqur Rahim, the Test captain, will also remain in the squad.

The return of Bangladesh’s premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will certainly boost their moral.

Nevertheless Tigers’ success will solely depend on the over-all team performance.

Bangladesh lost the two Tests against the hosts and will be facing more heat as they will have to contend with an even more potent South African side strengthened by the inclusion of AB de Villiers, one of the world’s most striking ODI and T20 batsmen.

Faf du Plessis has replaced De Villiers as the one-day captain and together with new coach Ottis Gibson will be seeking to build a squad capable of challenging for global honours.
