Three days after his 19th T20 hundred, Christopher Henry Gayle outnumbered his own innings, smashes the record book and took his team Rangpur Riders into the glory.

The tremendous amount of enjoyment that Gayle ushered for the Bangladeshi spectators in front of the sellout crowd at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka increased in giant strides with the progression of the match as the Caribbean legend fired gallantly with escalation of time in the match.

He started the tournament with 89 sixes and in the gala occasion of a BPL final, Gayle touched and crossed the century of sixes in T20 cricket, overshadowing the previous world record of hitting most sixes in an innings in T20 cricket, Chris Gayle hammered 18 of them on Tuesday night against Dhaka Dynamites.

All Dhaka Dynamites’ bowlers achieved in the high voltage case was the wicket of Johnson Charles. The centurion of the previous innings seemingly failed to accommodate with the spin of the Dynamites’ bowlers. After a few overs of hesitation, Charles was flattered by Shakib Al Hasan in the second over scoring 3 runs.

Then the show began for the Rangpur Riders, to be said for the devastating duo Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum.

The pair was un-touchable for the Dhaka Dynamites’ bowlers, they changed the strike and threw everything that came in front of them, out of the park, especially Chris Gayle.

Following a rather slower show in the first half of the innings, Gayle and McCullum accelerated the innings. With a strike rate of 211, the West Indian hard hitter scored 146 runs in 69 deliveries.

On the other end, Brendon McCullum reached 51 in 43 deliveries with seven shots, 4 fours and 3 sixes.

The priceless 201 run partnership propel Rangpur Riders’ innings towards 206 runs after putting into bat first.

Dhaka Dynamites’ batsmen played a rather provincial innings than chasing the monumental total. The downfall was, therefore, started in the hands of skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, once again brought the very first breakthrough for the team.

Opener Mehedi Maruf lost before opening up the innings. Other opener inform Evin Lewis startled for 9 deliveries, departed scoring 15 runs as Mashrafe Bin Mortaza grabbed an wonderful catch over the shoulder level.

Dynamites’ icon Shakib Al Hasan and Jahurul Islam were the only dominant batsmen in the innings. The 16 ball 26 runs by Shakib Al Hasan was ended by Nazmul Islam Apu.

Jahurul Islam’s belligerent half century did nothing but to lessen the gap of defeat for Dhaka Dynamites.

He hit his own wicket with the bat after scoring 50 off 38 balls.
