Mominul hits unbeaten 175*, Bangladesh 374/4

Opening the 1st innings with bat, the Tigers were on 374/4 at stump of the first day against visiting Sri Lanka in the 1st Test of the two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Wednesday.

Mominul Haque and Mahmudullah were on crease, scoring 175 off 203 balls and 9 runs off 20 balls respectively.

Bangladesh lost their first wicket of Tamim Iqbal scored 52 runs while Imrul Kayes made 32 runs and departed to the pavilion just before the lunch break.

Lakshan Sandakan and Dilruwan Perera took one wicket each conceding 4 and 36 runs respectively.

Tamim hit six boundaries and one six for his 25th Test half century before being bowled out by Lankan spin all-rounder Dilruwan Perera on 72/1 in 15.5 overs.

Mahmudullah Riyad is leading the host side for the first time in Test cricket as assigned regular captain all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan missing out from the squad due to finger injury.

The left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam making his Test debut in the match while 35-year old veteran left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak missed out from best eleven, after getting a recall for the national side around four years break.

In the other camp, 24-year-old Lankan all-rounder Akila Dananjaya missed his Test debut in the match.
