Bangladesh to open campaign with Bhutan match

The draw for the SAFF 2018 Championship was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel and Bangladesh were placed alongside Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan in Group A of the championship.
Bangladesh will play their opening match against Bhutan on September 4, 2018. Title holders India are in Group B alongside Maldives and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh Football Federation and SAFF President Kazi Salahuddin was present at the draw alongside SAFF general secretary Anwarul Haq Helal. BFF higherups and members of the sponsors and organisers were also present at the draw ceremony.
Bangladesh will be hosting the event for the third time in history in what will be the 13th edition of the tournament. The final of the tournament will take place on September 15.
