Asia Cup 2018: You need to know

The most awaited tournament of the year, Asia Cup 2018 is all set to take place from tomorrow till 28th September the in the United Arab Emirates. Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in the opening game of the tournament.

Teams: This year total of six teams will play in the Asia Cup. Five teams Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan were qualified directly while Hong Kong had to play the qualifier to participate in the tournament.

Format: Unlike the previous edition of the Asia Cup which was played in T20 format, this time the tournament will be played in the 50-over format. The six participating teams have been divided into two groups and there are three teams in each group. Top two teams from each group will qualify to the next round. Then, the top two teams from that round will compete with each other in the tournament.
