Liton dispatched Roston Chase over mid-wicket for six to get to 48 before an exquisite cover drive two deliveries later saw him bring up his fifty. Riyad, batting on 75 handed the baton to Liton, who punished anything wavering in line or length, playing some beautiful cricket shots.

The tone for the morning was set by skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who hit Roston Chase for three consecutive boundaries to signal an attacking-minded intent as Bangladesh scored 128 runs in the morning session before lunch from just 128 runs. Even as Shakib fell after scoring 80, Windies were not able to stem the flow of runs as the Liton-Riyad duo scored 86 runs in 109.
