Heavy downpour is likely to affect Bangladesh’s World Cup match against the hosts England on Saturday, according to UK meteorological office.

Rain and wind may batter southern part of England for next four-five days as storm Miguel lashes the country, warns the Met office.

The southern parts of Britain are going to be hit by the downpours, with London, Cardiff, Bath, Oxford and Portsmouth expected to suffer the worst, British media reports.

Bangladesh will face England in Cardiff on Saturday.

"It's looking quite unsettled for the next few days and over the weekend. Everywhere will have the chance of showers and more persistent rain, moving north overnight tonight,” British news outlet The Sun Online quoted Met office forecaster Richard Miles as saying.

"On Saturday it'll be pretty windy, you might see gale force gusts on the south coast but inland much weaker winds," the forecaster added.

Friday’s match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Bristol was washed out without a ball bowled due to heavy rain.
