Bangladesh need to chase massive target 382-run set by Australia

Former vice-captain of Australia, David Warner hit his second ton in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup in England and Wales against Bangladesh on Thursday at Nottingham.

The southpaw reached his ton off 110 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Relying on his ton, Australia were at 190 for one after 33 overs.Warner hits 166; his second ton of the tournament.

Before his hundred, Australian captain Aaron Finch fell prey to Soumya Sarkar for 53 with five fours and two sixes. Finch went to clear Soumya through third man, but Rubel Hossain was there to take an easy catch.

Bangladesh included Rubel Hossain and Sabbir Rahman in this match as Mohammad Saifuddin and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat were left out due to injuries.

Saifuddin has been suffering from a back problem while Mosaddek sustained a blow on his right shoulder in the previous game against West Indies.

Before heading to this match, Australia played five matches and won four of them. Their only setback came against India. The defending champions are now at number three in the points table.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, played five matches so far as well and won two of them. They suffered two losses against New Zealand and England with the other match against Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain.

Soumya Sarkar earned the Tigers’ must-needed breakthrough in his first over of the game removing Australian captain Aaron Finch for 53 off 51 with five fours and two sixes. 

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza gave the ball to Soumya aiming to break the opening pair of Australia, and the right-arm medium pacer did his job properly. Finch and Warner added 121 runs in the first wicket stand. 

At the end of the 21st over of the match, Australia were at 121 for one.
