Mustafizur Rahman bagged five wickets as Bangladesh bowlers staged a great comeback after India openers Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul had given them a fine start, restricting them to 314 for 9 in their World Cup game in Edgbaston on Tuesday.

Rohit, dropped on nine by Tamim Iqbal after India had chosen to bat first, slammed his fourth century of the tournament, to become only the second man in history to score four tons in a single edition of a World Cup. The other is Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara, who hit centuries in four straight games in 2015.

Rohit and Rahul went on to make 180 in the opening partnership, which was broken by part-time bowler Soumya Sarkar when Liton Das took a catch soon after Rohit hit his century.

Rohit's 104-run innings featured seven fours and five sixes. Rahul soon followed him to the pavillion as Rubel Hossain made him give a catch behind the wicket, after the batsman had made 77 in 92 balls.

The return of the openers was soon followed by a double strike from Mustafizur Rahman, as he claimed the wickets of Virat Kohli (26) and Hardik Pandya (0) in three balls.

Rishabh Pant's 48 off 41 balls and MS Dhoni's 35 off 33 did make sure the Indians go past 300, but compared to Bangladesh's fear of their opponents scoring 400 that was fueled by the attack of the openers, this is a score that certainly suited the Tigers better.

And they know they can chase such a total and they will be inspired by the fact that they have never lost a game when Mustafiz takes at least three wickets.
