Bangladesh under-19 team beat England under-19 by 72 runs in the ongoing tri-series on Thursday at Billericay.

Bangladeshi teen cricketers bowled out England teen batters in 152 runs in just 39 overs after Tnazid’s ton led his side to set a 225-run target to the host.

The left-handed opener Tanzid Hasan hits 117 off 113 with 16 fours and two sixes propelled Bangladesh to reach 224.

While chasing the target, host England faced batting collapse and lost five wickets in just 51 runs after 12 over balls been bowled.

Young Tigers Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rakibul Hasan crushed host batters by picking up three wickets each. Tanzim hunted three English batsmen in his 8 over spell for 28 runs while Rakibul dismissed three others for 19 runs.

Meanwhile, Shahin Alam and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury both picked up two wickets each.

For the host side, JA Haynes scored highest 40 runs from 43 balls and wicketkeeper-batsman FJ Bean made 30 off 45.

Earlier, England under-19 won the toss and opted to field first. Their decision seemed to be a good one as they picked the first wicket of Bangladesh in just 18 runs.

But in the second wicket stand, Tanzid and Mahmudul Hasan Joy added 118 runs which set a good foundation for Bangladesh to post a big total.

However, the young Tigers failed to take advantage of a good start as the middle-order failed to deliver a firm batting show.

Joy fell for 41 and Towhid Hridoy added 31. But the other batsmen failed to show their prowess as Bangladesh tumbled for 224 all-out in 47.1 overs.

For England, right-arm pacer Nick Kimber took five wickets conceding 38 runs in nine overs while Blake Cullen and George Hill took one wicket each.

Bangladesh won the fourth match today in their six matches and they are currently at the top of the points table. Along with Bangladesh and England, India are playing in this 50-overs event.
