Bangladesh has confirmed suspended all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and former ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza will be featured in the upcoming domestic T20 tournament, President Nazmul Hasan Papon of the Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday.

Shakib is serving a one-year suspension for failing to fix unethical methods and will be free to play from next October 29.

The seasoned all-rounder expressed his desire to play in the T20 competition scheduled for 20 November, though Mashrafe declined to play in the three-team 50-over competition that will kick off on 11 October.

Sure (Shakib will be participating in the T20 domestic tournament). That's all I know,' Nazmul told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

After the three-day game, Mashrafe will play the next one, as he unexpectedly learned about it, and it's not like he's not interested in playing the three-team 50-over game. The thing is that he needs to be quarantined and his training and fitness will take some time, but he will play the next available tournament (domestic T20 competition),' he said.

Nazmul said they are yet to decide whether this T20 tournament will be a corporate league or will be sponsored by the BCB, but insisted that a domestic T20 tournament will take place no matter what.

If it will be a corporate tournament or funded by the BCB has yet to be finalized. But it has been reported that this tournament will be held. We were unable to make a decision in one issue today that was whether or not we will allow international players and I took a day's time before making the decision,' Nazmul said.
