Brazil's former playmaker Ronaldinho said he contracted coronavirus on Sunday but had no symptoms.
The 40-year-old ex-Barcelona and AC Milan midfielder, who in his illustrious career won the Champions League and the World Cup, will live in solitude at a hotel in Belo Horizonte.
In a video posted on Instagram, he said, "Hello friends, family, fans, I took a Covid-19 test and the result was positive, I am doing fine, I am asymptomatic for now."
In August, after more than five months in detention in Paraguay over a false passport controversy, Ronaldinho returned to Brazil.
The former Ballon d'Or winner and his brother were both held in jail for a month and under house arrest for another four months at a hotel in Asuncion.
Brazil has reported more than 156,000 coronavirus fatalities, behind only the US in terms of fatalities.
