Sylhet Sixer’s icon player Sabbir Rahman has been fined for abusing an umpire after the game against Comilla Victorians.

Sixers won their second game of the tournament after beating Comilla Victorians by four wickets at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

At the end of the match while exchanging pleasantries with the players and umpires, cricketer Sabbir Rahman verbally abused umpire Mahfuzur Rahman. A decision taken by the umpire was not taken lightly by Sabbir which led to the incident.

Sabbir has been fined fifty percent of his match fee. The figure stands at roughly TK 1.5 lakh for Sabbir Rahman. Match fee is calculated after taking the total earning from BPL matches and dividing that figure by 15.

Sabbir Rahman has earned three demerit points for abusing the umpire; one more demerit point will see him suspended for one match.

Earlier, Sylhet captain Nasir Hossain and manager Hasibul Hossain were warned over delaying coin toss by six minutes.
