BCB announce Test squad for Zimbabwe Tests

Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the squad for the Test series against Zimbabwe, scheduled to begin on November 3 and Mohammad Mithun has been included in the squad after good showing in the ODIs.

Along with Mithun, all-rounder Ariful Haque, spinner Nazmul Islam and paceman Khaled Ahmed are the new faces in the Tigers’ Test squad. Nazmul and Ariful have been part of the Bangladesh ODI outfit for a while now. Khaled Ahmed, who plays for Sylhet Division has also been included.

Opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who played in the Asia Cup and is also in the squad for the ongoing ODI series against Zimbabwe has been retained in the Test squad. Pacers Shafiul Islam and Abu Jayed, who were both also part of the Test squad for the away Test series against West Indies along with Shanto, have been retained in the squad.

Bangladesh are without the services of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and opener Tamim Iqbal who are recuperating from injuries. Paceman Rubel Hossain has meanwhile been dropped while Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Nurul Hasan Sohan were excluded from the Test squad as well.
