Shakib shines again as Tridents wins

Barbados Tridents won their last league stage game against Trinbago Knight Riders by seven wickets in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Thursday at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Bangladesh Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan shone with the ball taking two wickets conceding 25 runs as Knight Riders batted first winning the toss. 

Shakib took the ball in the first over of the match and bagged the wicket of James Neesham in the fifth ball. Later, he took the wicket of Lindl Simmons as well.

Knight Riders posted 134 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Simmon was the best batsman of them scoring 60 off 45 with three fours and four sixes. 

In reply, Barbados scored 135 runs in 19.4 overs with seven wickets in hand. Johnson Charles hit 55 and Alex Hales added 33. Shakib batted at number three and posted 13 off 14. 

With this win, Barbados ended the league-phase of the league with five wins out of 10 games. 

Before this game, Shakib played two more games in this season of CPL. In his first game, Shakib bagged one wicket conceding 14 runs in four overs and scored 38 off 25 balls but his team lost the game by one run against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. 

In the second game, Shakib scored 22 and took one wicket conceding 20 runs in four overs and his team beat St Lucia Zouks by 24 runs to book a place in the last four.
