After a two-day gap, the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) resumes at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday with the match between Dhaka Platoon and Chattogram Challengers.

The Challengers are at the top of the table with 10 points out of five wins in seven games before this BPL process in Dhaka. Rajshahi Royals and Platoon have earned eight points each, but for their better run-rate than the Platoon, the Royals are in second place.

Khulna Tigers, who are led by Mushfiqur  Rahim, are at number four with six points from three wins in five games while Cumilla Warriors, Sylhet Thunder and Rangpur Rangers are placed at five, six and seven with four, two and two points respectively. Thunder and the Rangers amassed two points each, but due to the better run-rate, Thunder are at numbers six.

Dawid Malan, an English batsman, is at the top of the event's most run-scorers list. He has scored 300 runs from one hundred-and -a-half-century in six matches, while Mehedi Hasan Rana is top of the league's most wicket-takers list with 13 wickets from five matches.

The BPL will be heading to Sylhet for a three-day period after the five-day second Dhaka-phase. After that, from January 7, the BPL will start in Dhaka. The event's final will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on January 17.
